One World Academy co-founder and mentor, Preetha, visited Munich, Germany from 13th to 16th October 2011. Although a very brief visit, owing to her commitments in India, Preetha’s loving presence and presentations have left an indelible impression on everyone that had the opportunity to meet and interact with her. On the evening of the 14th October, Preetha interacted with an intimate group of friends comprising of some eminent and affluent professionals from varied disciplines. At the invitation of Mr. Bernhard Ujcic, these friends had gathered from different parts of Germany and from as far as the Gibraltar islands for an evening of spiritual awareness and meditation with Preetha.
Among the many topics that featured in the discussion, the hall-mark however was Preetha’s personal sharing of how she along with her husband Krishna are parenting their 8-year old daughter Lokaa towards a life of service, love, compassion and awareness. The participants were deeply moved with the authenticity of Preetha’s sharing as to how a parent’s influence could be so immensely beneficial for the child, should it come from a place of awareness and love. Although the participants were so immersed in the discussion and never felt the passage of time, the evening had to be brought to a close at around 11:00 pm with a guided meditation & sharing the gift of presence.
On the 15th October, Preetha was invited to speak at the ‘Visionary Economies Congress’ in Munich. The underlying theme of this congress was to create an awareness of how spirituality needs to be the driving force for a more sustainable and conscious form of business. Preetha’s presentation at the Congress was titled, ‘Seeding a Culture of Awareness’ & highlighted an entirely different angle to leadership: as an attitude of service and not merely a position of power. Deeply moved by the 50- minute presentation and the meditation that followed it, many participants came in person after the talk and expressed not only their deep appreciation but also extended invitations to address larger and well-renowned conferences on sustainable living and business in other parts of Germany in 2012.
