A Letter from the 8-year old Child, Lokaa

Dear sir or madam,
If you have helped or donated to us in any of our previous projects we are very grateful. Thank you. Even if you have not we are surely pleased in letting you know about our last 2 projects.
The first one is getting pencils, pens, erasers, sharpeners, and scales for our local orphanage in Chennai, India and its name is Udavum Karangal, this is in Tamil, when you translate it to English it means helping hands.
The second one is getting 3 computers for the school of Udavum Karangal (helping hands).
We hope you will help us with all our future projects as well.

On the computer project
It all became very clear for Lokaa when she saw the young kids at Udavum Karangal with growing needs that it is very important to take a step in making a difference to their lives. She read through the wish list which stated the requirements of those children and amongst them was an appeal
"We need computers so that our children could learn using recent advancements"
Lokaa discussed with her friends from Happy Hearts Happy World foundation and they collectively wished to donate three computers as thier immediate project. They all became as busy as ever Lokaa writing a beautiful letter to the members and supporters of HHHW across the globe asking for help to fulfill the new project. With the help of their parents and friends HHHW members inspired more people to join in, they were clear in their goal. "We children will help those children who are in need. "
They continued to offer their talents like dance, music, and making lemonade which brought in donations for pencils, erasers, and scales to be gifted to the children at the orphanage and more plans emerged for raising the 3 computers. Lokaa's grand parents, parents, aunts, uncles and a few families from Andhra Pradesh, some young people from Turkey caught wind of her desire and they all joined the cause, donations came in.
The members of HHHW were excited every where. By the end of the month the donation was collected and the computers were purchased. There was excitement everywhere as they discussed with each other on skype and phone calls about how their contribution would create greater happiness and confidence in the hearts of the orphan kids whom they were going to meet soon. Even after the money required for the project was raised donations poured in from UK inspired by another member, Robin of HHHW.
On 25th December, 2011, Lokaa along with a friend of hers visited Udavum Karangal and gifted pencils, sharpeners, scales, erasers, scales for 40 kids between 3-8 years and the 3 new computers to the founder Sri Vidhyakar and the kids. She wished the kids gathered there a beautiful Christmas and a joyous new year. On behalf of HHHW they told the founder of the orphanage that they were always happy in taking responsibility for those who could not help themselves. The entire group of children laughed and greeted each other. Lokaa and Robin from happy hearts happy world are now on their next project of gathering school supplies of uniforms, shoes and bags for the academic year of these 100 kids beginning in June in India.

It was a day of giving. Planned with joy, done with love and shared with gratitude. A very memorable day in the lives of 3 children – Lokaa (aged 8), Eloksi (aged 8) and Robin (aged 11) who reached out to serve kids of their age in a local orphanage. They served freshly made popcorn and lemonade to more than 70 children, who were deeply touched and enjoyed the act of love from the three. The team also came forward to adopt one girl and one boy child for a year, through the funds they would collect by performing shows and activities for the cause.

The Experience:
Lokaa, Eloksi, and Robin went to Udavum Karangal our local orphanage in Chennai. Robin is a newly added member of Happy Hearts Happy World . Robin takes care of Happy Hearts Happy World - United Kingdom.
This is a letter from Udavum Karangal, a day after the children visited the oraganization. Udavum Karangal (Helping Hands) is a registered, non-governmental, non-religious and non-profit social service organization, established in 1983, with the sole objective of serving people in need.

Wishes to Happy Hearts and Happy World team for organizing a get together for set children at our unit on 15.10.2011.
The kids who are team members of HHHW Lokaa, Robin from UK and Eloksi organized the happy occasion of preparing popcorn and lemonade to the kids. It was very unique and the kids really enjoyed seeing one of the kids of their age group doing something nice for them.
I really appreciate the One World Academy friends for their initiative in this regard.
