Veludayar Educational Institution

ONE WORLD ACADEMY FOUNDATION on 17 Feb. 2011 conducted a program in Tiruvarur in the state of Tamil Nadu in South India for the students, teacher training staff and teachers of Veludayar Educational Institution.
The Parri family who have established this beautiful institution were most happy to introduce One World Academy to the students and faculty. Our thanks to the young organizers who wanted to impact the lives of the students.
OWA Faculty, Radhika addressed a team of 450 students on "The Power of Creative Energy and Practices to Develop Attention". She acknowledged that the life of a student with all the academic stress and competition is tough. But it need not be the case, if students learn how to function from creative energy. The aim of the session was to bring about a shift and imbibe in them a passion for learning and leading.

The students were completing school on the day of the event and their study leave would commence. Many expressed to Radhika their common fear with regards to their performance during the examinations. Radhika mentored them that at the onset of fear, the best thing they can do to themselves is to sit in a comfortable position, breathe slow, and inquire if this fear is merely a projection or is the fear a result of improper preparation. If it is a mere projection, know it and get back to what is most important. If it is due to inadequate knowledge, instead of ignoring what is not learned, focus on learning them. The goal is then to observe fear and act from a place of clarity. Meditating on one's breathing for just 5 minutes before seating down to study can make a lot of difference in the attention level of students.

The teacher training stuff also had a wonderful interactive session with the faculty where they made an intent - to create passion in children for learning, and help them discover their inner potential. There was also a team of 100 teachers who listened to the views of OWA about good and great teachers and the art of resolving conflicts which can help them bring greater love and understanding amongst youth and children.
Youth Exnora members of Tiruvarur also organized for tree plantation where donors gifted tree protection cages. Conscious of creating a greener world, this team educated people to organize more such plantations.
There are more programs planned for several other districts of South India to help students discover their potential and help nurture them.
